Competency through Repetition
We start with "core techniques". These are skills learned and put to memory. Not just memory, though. Remember, as a critical incident unfolds and the realization that a lethal threat is focused on harming you or someone you love, we find that what we learn in regards to motor skills leaves us to some extent. The solution is "competency through repetition". This is a primary core technique that we teach at Stoneridge and must be with you always. It allows your body to function at a level of "automation rather than contemplation". You will perform how you train. Astound yourself at the level of competency that you can achieve, having the right tools and techniques at your disposal.
"NEXT STEPS" TACTICAL HANDGUN
The Next Steps Tactical Handgun course is available as an all day course. It is fast paced and high-pressure. This course is specifically designed for those who are seeking the "next step" of hands-on training or already have a concealed carry permit and want additional hands-on handgun training. Get prepared for a Critical Incident should it ever occur. Do not be the one that loses when it comes to protecting yourself or a loved one. This class is a MUST for the novice, beginning concealed carry license holder, or experienced shooter alike!
Class includes speed-enhancement drills, drawing exercises, 5 fundamentals of shooting, competency by repetition, synthetic adrenaline induction exercises, target recognition drills, shoot-don't-shoot drills, and more! At course completion, you will be in the top 3% of shooters in the country. This is the course you need to feel confident in handling your firearm for a concealed carry situation.
You are not required to possess a Concealed Handgun License to attend this class.
This is an all-inclusive class and certificates of course completion will be awarded. These certificates are also useful in obtaining your concealed handgun license. The training in this class is far superior in scope and practicality than the concealed handgun class we offer.
Oregon Revised Statutes require the very minimum training of classroom-only time in order to obtain a concealed handgun license. It's one thing to obtain a license to carry concealed. It's a whole different situation to prepare yourself physically and mentally for the unthinkable. The difference between the two is a lot like wanting to become a race car driver and then obtaining your ODL thinking you can jump right out on the track and win big.
At Stoneridge Tactical, we provide you with case study to describe the issues, then move into the concepts behind it all. As a last step, we describe to you the tactic or the technique you will be using as a means to win in a Critical Incident and to neutralize a Lethal Threat, should you ever be confronted by one.
